Masters Golf Tournament
On March 22, 1934 Bobby Jones and Clifford Roberts decided to hold an annual golf tournament in honour of golf's greatest players called the The Augusta National Invitation Tournament. It wasn't until 1939 that the event became known as The Masters. The Masters has grown to become the most prestigious tournament in all of Golf and now is one of the 4 major chamionships in Golf. The Masters, scheduled for the first full week of April, at Augusta, is the first of the majors to be played each year.

The Players Championship is "The 5th Major"- an annual tournament in Jacksonville which is played in March (May from 2007) at TPC Sawgrass. Introduced 1974. Part of the PGA tour it is one of the richest tournaments on the Tour.

PGA Grand Slam of Golf
The PGA Grand Slam of Golf is an annual off-season golf tournament organised by PGA of America between the year's winners of the four major championships of regular men's golf. played as a 1-day, 18-hole stroke play competition. The Ryder Cup
The Ryder Cup is a biennial golf trophy, between teams of 12 from Europe and the United States, the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe. Currently, the matches consist of eight foursomes matches, eight fourball matches and 12 singles matches.
