Powerboating
 Offshore powerboat racing is viewed as the ultimate motor sport on water, the equivalent of the world F1 series on land, though in comparison, the powerboats drive on what would be equivalent to a ploughed field and can accelerate to 160kmp in 4 seconds. The boats have a high power to weight ratio and a hull designed for planing, thereby allowing high speeds and improved handling. The races are usually in circuits close to land which makes for a better spectator sport and for TV access.

The World Professional Powerboating Association
