Roller derby is an American-invented full contact sportplayted on Quad Skates —and historically, a form of sports entertainment—based on formation roller skating around an oval track, with points scored as certain players lap members of an opposing team. The game consists of a series of two-minute countdown jams. From Wikipedia. The sport is now spreading to other countries.
Group Roller Skating
a popular social activity in which large groups of skaters regularly meet to skate together, usually on city streets. Although such touring existed among quad roller skate clubs in the 1970s and 1980s, it made the jump to inline skates in 1990 with groups in large cities throughout the United States. Roller hockey is a form of hockey played on a dry surface using skates with wheels. The term "Roller Hockey" is often used interchangeably to refer to two variant forms chiefly differentiated by the type of skate used. There is traditional "Roller Hockey," played with quad roller skates, and "Inline Hockey," played with inline skates. Combined, roller hockey is played in nearly 60 countries worldwide - from Wikipedia. The two games have different rules and equipment.
