About Sepak Takraw
History of Sepak TakrawProbably goes back to the 11th Century in SE Asia. It was a circle game originally - villagers stand in a circle and try to keep the ball in the air for as long as possible. The net was introduced in the 19th Century. The International Sepak Takraw Federation was formed in 1988.

Also known as kick volleyball or Sepak Raga - a major sport native in Southeast Asia. Three players on each side of a 5-foot high net get three chances to kick, knee, shoulder, or head a takraw ball back to the opposing team. Like Volleyball, players try to play the ball toward the front of the net, making the best use of their three hits to pass, set and spike, as opposing players attempt to block - but all without using hands or arms, just like football and makes very exciting to play and watch.
