  The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing. The sanctioning body for many racing series' including, but not limited to, Nextel Cup, Busch Grand National, and Craftsman Supertruck. NASCAR creates and enforces rules to ensure that cars racing against each other are evenly matched and as safe as possible. NASCAR also establishes the racing schedule and location of races that determine the racing season.

Daytona 500. "The Superbowl of Nascar"- 200 laps, totalling  500 miles. The current 2.5 mile track, with 31-degree banking in the corners, was completed in 1959 by mechanic, racer and founder of Nascar, William France, and replaced an earlier course that used 1.5 miles of highway, before turning  and returning along the beach.
